Had a great weekend of a BBQ at friends. I got to take care of the BBQ which I love and will do that at any and every party I attend. I'd always rather be in the kitchen cooking.
David and I went to see Blank City at the Nuart in Santa Monica on Sunday. Really enjoyed hearing and seeing all the commentary from the late 70's to the mid 80's about the creative filmmaking that was going on in New York city before anyone wanted to live there. There was so much creativity and in music, art and film going on at that time. I really wish I had been there to experience that.
Monday I got up early, went on a walk and purchase the items I needed to brine a chicken. I spent the majority of the day organizing things that I had been wanting to take care of. After taking care of that I made Thomas Keller's recipe of fried chicken. It was the BEST fried chicken I have ever made. I'm looking forward to making again.

Once, Twice, Three times a movie. I saw Once last night. I really enjoyed this movie. At first I was a bit worried as the film is a bit raw and they had the shaky-cam thing going on. Luckily that stopped and the movie opened up and told a good, if not great story centering around music and love lost. I can recommend this movie to anyone who is a major music fan. If you have ever sat around and wrote songs with someone who has loads of creativity then this film was made for you.
I loved the music. Glen Hansard (lead singer of the Irish rock band "The Frames") and Czech singer Marketa Irglova voices sound absolutely amazing together.
