I saw Grindhouse with a group of friends on Friday and I loved it!
I don't remember the last time I had so much fun at a movie and this movie was thoroughly enjoyable. It's not for everyone but it totally reminded me how much I used to enjoy horror movies. I would see again.

Kurt Vonnegut - RIP

I heard on the news this morning that Kurt Vonnegut passed away on Wednesday, April 11th. He was one of our great novelists of our time and I know he will be greatly missed.
Growing up I enjoyed reading his books such as Jailbird, Breakfast of Champions and Cat's Cradle.
This date also marked the 5 year anniversary of my brother's death. Can I just sum it up by saying "Death sucks"?

Holy crap!!! Scary as hell but a great movie. Bloody, gory, scary and can cause nightmares for small children. Thoroughly enjoyable. I think the thing that freaks me out the most is seeing streets of central London completely bare and quiet. Argh!!!!!!!

Volunteering

I volunteered once again for Project Angel Food and it was a truly rewarding experience. Everyone there is so great. I loved cooking, preparing and packaging the food for such a worthy cause. The head chef in the kitchen gave me a great compliment and entrusted me to take over a complete recipe. I'm looking forward to doing this again as soon as I can get an open weekend.

A few of us got together for a Birthday dinner at Malo in Silverlake for Michelle. The pickle and beef hard shell tacos (I know, it sounds bizarre) were really good. The carne asada soft tacos are very tasty and the potato and eggplant tacos are pretty good as well. I have heard that the sangria (red or white) is another great option and I would recommend ordering the chips and salsa sampler. The habanero salsa is the BEST. We all thought it was really spicy but so flavorful you couldn't stop eating it! I will go again.
