First and Forty

Yesterday I had my first ever experience with food poisoning. Although I consider myself really lucky being 40 and never having that experience before on the other hand it really, really SUCKS!!! I really just wanted to be put out of my misery. The bad thing it was my friend Cindy's birthday and I was supposed to go to Katsu-Ya, my favorite sushi restaurant.

I think I put my finger on how I got so sick. It was NOT the King crab legs that I had on Sunday night. I do believe it was the creamed horseradish or the cocktail sauce that I had with the shrimp. Turns out that a new law was passed 2 years ago that if the label says it has to be refrigerated it HAS to have an expiration date. When I found out and checked the labels did not have expiration dates. That means that those jars were over 2 years old. That's good to know, NOW!

I have always found it near-impossible to say no to creamed horseradish, really.
